Hydrodipping Services in Dubai
Hydrodipping — also known as water transfer printing or hydrographics — lets 3DWorks apply detailed patterns and finishes to complex three-dimensional parts that would be impossible to achieve with flat printing. From carbon-fibre and wood-grain effects to custom camouflage and brand graphics, hydrodipping wraps the entire surface of a part in a seamless, durable finish, right here in Dubai Production City.
What is hydrodipping?
A printed film carrying your chosen pattern is floated on the surface of a water bath and chemically activated. The part is then dipped through the film, which conforms to every curve and contour before it is rinsed, dried and sealed with a protective clear coat. The result is a factory-quality decorative finish that follows the geometry of even the most intricate component — with no seams, decals or flat spots.
The hydrodipping process, step by step
- Preparation — the part is cleaned, primed and base-coated in the colour that sets the tone for the final finish.
- Film activation — the hydrographic film is laid on the water and activated so the ink becomes a liquid layer.
- Dipping — the part is lowered through the film, wrapping it evenly across all surfaces.
- Rinsing & drying — residue is washed away and the part is fully dried.
- Clear-coating — a durable topcoat locks in the pattern and adds scratch, UV and wear resistance.
Popular finishes
We regularly produce carbon-fibre weaves, brushed and polished metals, wood grains, marble and stone effects, camouflage, and fully custom printed patterns including brand graphics and colourways. If you can supply or describe the look, we can usually source or match a film for it.

Frequently asked questions
What materials can be hydrodipped?
Most rigid materials that can hold a base coat — including 3D-printed plastics, resin parts, metals, wood and composites. We assess each part and prime it appropriately before dipping.
Is the finish durable?
Yes. Once sealed with a clear topcoat, a hydrodipped finish resists scratches, UV fading and everyday wear, making it suitable for functional and display parts alike.
Can you match a specific pattern or brand colour?
In most cases, yes. We can source a wide range of films and tune base and top coats to hit a target colour or effect. Share a reference and we will advise on the closest match.
